Innovative and flexible platform maximizes revenue opportunities and utilization, delivering an impressive return on investment.
April 11, 2013 – Universal Instruments will formally introduce its Fuzion™ Platform to the European market at the SMT Hybrid Packaging trade show April 16–18 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg in Germany. Universal is exhibiting on booth 7-219 in cooperation with its channel partner, smartTec GmbH.
Winner of Circuits Assembly magazine’s NPI award as the top machine in the “Component Placement – Multifunction” category, the FuzionXC2-37 “delivers significant advantages in the higher-mix European environment by offering the flexibility to quote a full range of applications, accelerating NPI, improving utilization by 50%, and reducing overall cost of ownership,” explained Universal Vice President of Customer Operations Brad Bennett. “Several European customers purchased the Fuzion when it was first released a few months ago and are already realizing substantial improvements in productivity,” he added.
smartTec recently opened a new demonstration center in Rodgau, Germany, that features only Universal solutions. It presently features surface mount platforms, including the FuzionXC2-37, and will soon also be home to Universal’s automation offering, the Polaris Assembly Cell, which performs odd-form and light-mechanical assembly.
“Each year, the relationship between Universal Instruments and smartTec gets stronger,” commented Frank Wiethüchter, smartTec commercial director and co-owner. “With a dedicated Universal team inside smartTec, the step to a dedicated showroom was inevitable, and we are looking forward to inviting new and existing customers to visit our demo facility and to meet the smartTec team,” he added.
